We combine computational techniques with genome data analysis to reconstruct the evolutionary history of humans and their pathogens. Previous work focused on Indigenous populations from the Americas and medieval populations from Europe. We are currently looking for a master's student to work on a project focused on studying a medieval mass grave in Britain.
The Amorim Lab at Cal State Northridge
Research in the lab focuses on using genomic data from present-day and ancient humans to learn about history, adaptation, and disease.
